| According to the secret traditional
family method, Domenis produces a type of grappa which has always
been called Storica, for its matchless quality. The very best marcs
are accurately selected and preserved with mastery, because they
can offer the most elevated qualitative yield. The distilling process
is carried out with an original discontinuous plant in copper, with
low temperature vapour, to favour the extraction and the selection
of the best fragrances and the most delicate aromas.
Storica is presented in three different product solutions.
The Triptych of Young Grappas
are constituted by three grappas with an elevated alcoholic volume,
distilled from marcs of grapes coming from the Colli Orientali del
Friuli and Collio: the Storica Nera (50% vol), the Storica (50%
vol) and the Secolo (60% vol).
These are young grappas that undergo an accurate maturing procedure
and a measured refinement in stainless steel casks for at least
one year.
The Triptych of Aged Grappas
are constituted by grappas with 50% alcoholic volume, obtained,
throughout the different vintages, from the ageing of Storica. They
are grappas that undergo an accurate maturing process, a diversified
ageing procedure both for time, that can be more or less lengthy,
and by using wooden casks having different essences and following
a slow refinement in stainless steel casks: Riserva di Storica,
Stravecchia di Storica and Riserva 10 Anni di Storica.
Storica d’Uve have required
many years of research, experimentation and testing for the correct
grape mix in order to obtain a product having unique characteristics,
which are unlikely comparable, and practically inimitable (with
42% vol).
